• dyndns.js not updating?

From Android8675@DIGDIST/BATTLEST/FREEWAY to All on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 15:42:00
So using dyndns.js for my shodan.synchro.net address, and I noticed a few weeks ago that the IP isn't updating when my [lame] DSL line changes IP adresses. I added a no-ip.org address, and if I ping both that address and the synchro.net address I get different IPs.

Pinging shodan.synchro.net [99.118.55.195] with 32 bytes of data:
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.

    Ping statistics for 99.118.55.195:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),
    --

Pinging shodanscore.no-ip.org [108.70.210.6] with 32 bytes of data:
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.

    Ping statistics for 108.70.210.6:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),
    --

OK, so my router doesn't answer pings, but the later IP is correct, the synchro.net one is not.

Is there a way to clear or force update the dyndns?

    Still a problem DM,

Right now my ip is 108.70.210.230, but shodan.synchro.net is reading 108.70.210.6. I force called the dyndns.js, seemed to update OK, no errorcode, but even now about 2 minutes later it's not updated.

Thanks, hopefully it's fixed for good now.

When I upgraded cvs.synchro.net from Debian Squeeze (6) to Wheezy (7), the upgrade installed a new "lightweight" directory service
(lwresd) as part of bind which prevented rndc from communicating with bind, which force the reload of the zone files when they were
    changed via dyndns.sychro.net.

Thanks to Deuce for helping root-cause this problem. I've since disabled the lwresd service and rndc appears to be working
correctly now. Let me know if you have any more issues,

Nice job, thanks Deuce & DM.
