    Howdy!,

I think that a "Baby Bottle Brush" is the ultimate Back Scratcher I have
    tried using.

Just thought I'd tell about my discovery to those who read this echo.

The "Bottle Brush" I have, has a long handle of twisted wires.

I can use it all over my back.

As Jerry Clower tells about the feller up in the tree top with a Lynx
who hsd tp hollor out to his friends on the ground:

"Just shoot up here amongst us, One of us just has to have some relief".

The Bottle Brush is a lot better than the plastic Back Scratcher that has
the shape of a very small hand on the end of it that I won while trying
to win one of the better prizes at a Game of Chance in the Arcade at a Amusement Park years ago.

The long tiny handle broke when I used it many years ago and the pieces were thrown in the trash.

I threw those pieces away long before any "Recycling Program" was thought of
to recycle plastic to keep it out of the trash or getting in the waterways.

I will keep using that Bottle Brush (or a replacement for it) as a Back Scratcher, until I learn of some other way to scratch what itches on my back that works better.

It works for Me!, but I'm open to learn of any other instrument that anyone uses or knows about that does the job as well or better.
Estecially if the cost for that other thing is very cheap.

I don't know what a Bottle Brush replacement sells for today but if I need
to buy another one the Scotchman part of me won't keep me from buying one
    if I need another one.

If there was a "professional grade" electric mower designed to run for hundreds, if not thousands of hours, it would not be cost effective for a residental consumer to buy. Imagine paying $700 for a push mower instead of $60-$100

I've seen electric lawnmowers (with a rechargeable battery) costing around $500 or so. If it lasts a long time, I could potentially see justifying that cost. Especially since an electric lawnmower doesn't need gas or oil changes, and has fewer parts, which means (hopefully) fewer things that can go wrong.

Electric mowers are in the sam boat as electric trimmers. While electric motors can produce alot of torque, the motors used in electric trimmer cannot run blades and thicker strand that gas trimmers can run. Then again, there's
a difference in cost between a gas and electric trimmer.

If an electric mower could cut through the same density of grass a gas engine mower could handle. The battery would need to be huge. If it were powered
by a electric outlet, the cord length would be drastically reduced due to the amperage being run.

Around here you can pay 400 bucks for an ecological, hay powered mower, which will make a nice "neigh" sound from time to time while running.

(By the way, I am out of home for the time being and I miss my horses so much)

well there's one thing doing the work and that's the motor. and that can blow out. i think the batteries go to shit just like any other battery does.

that's why i got corded. corded is a pita but the mower was cheap and it's super light.

well my electric mower cuts grass as good or better than a gas one.

Just out of curiousity. Why do you use an electric mower? When I first got married and was broke my father inlaw gave me his electric mower to use until I got my own gas mower. My father made me start cutting the lawn when I turned 12 with a gas mower. I hated using the electric mower. Dragging that cord around was a pain and I was always afraid I was going to run into it with the mower. Anyway what would be the reason someone would pay money for an electric mower? Price? I can't think of one. Please enlighten me.

it was 70 bucks on sale on amazon and where i moved to i had a small square yard. i liked the power and how quiet it was and i didnt have to get gas for it and end up with my hands stinking like gas.

you just need to work out a method to doing it. i do it a certain way and then flip the cord and it never gets in my way. where i'm at i do a front and a back and it works out. i cut the grass of this huge house that a church owns in exchange for parking in their big lot so i bought a gas mower for them. having gas mower is exchanging portability for the added weight and the annoyance of adding gas and buying more gas.

my electric mower is a pain to get going because i have to get the cord out, unravel it [i use an electronics "speaker wire" wrap style so it never gets tangled. then i have to wrap it up again.

I bought my first A.C. Powered Electric Lawn Mower thinking the cost to run
it would be less than buying Gasoline for the Gas Lawn Mower I was using.
I got a Three Wire, 50 Foot Extension Cord made with 14 Guage Wire for it.

While I was cutting the front yard one day I ran across the 50 Foot Line Cord and had to get some Pan-Amp Terminals and the Crimper to fix it.
I wrapped my repairs up with Electrical Tape and can still use that Line Cord.

Some time later the A.C. Motor failed and I bought another Electric Lawn Mower just like the one with the failed motor.
Some time later the Deck of the second mower got Rusty so I replaced the Motor on the first one with the Motor from the second one and can still cut Grass with it.

Sometimes I would cut the back yard with the Gas Mower while My Wife cut
the Front yard with the Electric Mower.

Last Year We had the Gas Mower repaired, but it stopped working earlier this year so We are using the Electric Mower until We decide to buy a Gas Mower or get our Gas Mower fixed again.

I consider electric devices light duty and perfect for renters who do not
have storage space for gas cans and small lawns. Electric trimmers that use
a filament can be had for a fraction of a gas trimmers cost. They'll handle m ost detail work, but don't expect to put a rotary blade on one and trim bush stumps.
