I know with Biden likely in power and if the Republicans got no influence to block some of
the insane crap he proposes, gasoline will likely be more restricted. I think hybrid would be
more logical than electric only cars.

Either will be more expensive than anything I would be able to afford.

Ok, that makes no sense to me, could you clarify?

Gas has never been restricted, but they may add more taxes to
gasoline (on top of the 80 cents or so we already pay) especially as
per-gallon revenue plummet - MPG has gone up, people are driving less
because of COVID and electric vehicles aren't paying gas taxes. And,
as you know, we're already paying for California-specific
    formulations.

Or, resurrect the notion of per-mile taxation, but no one's going to
want to be tracked by the government willingly. Maybe they make
Fastrak mandatory? There's already been some question as to how
closely they track individual cars, and Caltrans already got caught
once collecting more data than was agreed to.

Because we have the Public Safety Power Shutoffs, electric-only is rather crazy. That is
    the big argument.

Newsom wants to make gasoline cars (new ones gone in 15-20 years)
