    I'm a new BBBS sysop. I'm currently using the unregistered version for Linux 64.

    I will figure everything out with time and practice, and reading the sysop's manual, but let me ask these questions:

    1) Does the "Unregistered" message disappear with a paid license key?

    2) Can I replace the .gr files with .ans (ansi) files and expect them to display properly?

    Yes, what you get is what you see.

    2) Can I replace the .gr files with .ans (ansi) files and expect them to display properly?

    You can put the ansi you please in the .gr files but keep the same filename just to keep things simple.
