Hey folks.. I'm trying to get a Renegade BBS online but I am having nothing but
problems with transfer protocols.. I used the Smart Prot package but it only installs GSZ which does not work in a telnet session ..

I haven't really been able to find anything that has helped me lol ..

I'm just lost at his question, as PD Zmodem comes preinstalled with RG since 2003. Same as I've included NetFOSS (with permission from PCMike), So unless he's trying to run some OLD version or not using the -T parameter to load RG for telnet, I have no idea what is going on.

you cant just drop it in, the syntax is different and a bit more simple.
it's not bad. but you should use pdzmodem instead.

I tried to get PDZ working .. it sorta works.. downloads work fine, but uploads finish on the senders end while the data is buffered in cyberspace waiting for Renegade to receive it.. depending on the size of the file it could take from 1 minute to 30 mins .. the default renegade protocols just don't work at all .. get COM port errors ..

It's frustrating to say the least .. but I will perservere and get this garbage figured out lol

Dude, I have no idea what you are doing or what version you are running. That is a great start for help. Secondly, PDZ-Modem comes installed within Renegade so there is no need to fuck with it since like v1.10. Get up to v1.30 atleast or v1.33. The only trouble I've had with PDZmodem is on files around 20GB in uploading, which in that turn, it was eaiser for the sender to send me a weblink to download it from. The program was not made to handle that HUGE of a file.

All config and everything, including the file is setup and ready to go in Renegade and the PDZmodem files come with it. Along with NetFOSS and Net2BBS.

Are you using NetFOSS as your FOSSIL? If not, PDZmodem may not work correctly, as it wa tinkered with by pcmike and he wrote NetFOSS and Net2BBS. So it's MADE to work with those.
