My first was the little girl across the street when we were eight years
old ...... oh, wait. You meant confusers.

My first computer was an SWTP-1000 built from a sandwich baggie of bits
and pieces using mimeographed instructions. It was programmed using DIP switches and had NO storage.

First store-bought mass market 'puter was a TRaSh-80 Model I. Followed
by a PET 4032 then a PET 8032, CommodeDoor 64, an Amiga 2000 and after
Gould and Ali did in Commodore, an original IBM-PC.

... Amiga made it possible. Commodore made it dead.

    Wow!

Yes, of course. I suppose I saw some article in local computer mags, at least. They informed about anything Sinclair-related.

    zxspectrum my first, whats yours?

My first was an IBM Aptiva - forget the model number, but it came out in 1996. It had a black chassis and the CD/Floppy/Power button were on an external unit that connected via a SCSI card to the PC. Made getting the floppy and CD to work a bit challenging sometimes (some older versions of MSCDEX didn't work with this configuration). Windows 95 wouldn't recognize the CD drive without the appropriate SCSI driver.

I later ventured off into DOS machines and then went older. I have a breadbin 64 and a breadboard cartridge. I also have an Amiga 4000, IBM PS/2 56SLC (which I am typing this message on), PowerMac G5 dual, and a dell optiplex GX1. I have a Toshiba Tecra 530CDT laptop from 1996 in the mail.

I don't really use many computers newer than 2004. I don't like the modern computers nor the modern operating systems. The newest computer I have is a Raspberry Pi 4 - which I will use with my C64 soon (I plan on making a cartridge port to GPIO port adapter first, then we will see what I come up with next).

How ya gonna do it? PS/2 it!

    Hallo Owen,

My first computer was a Commodore 8296 that I bought from my school
when I was in 5th grade. These old computers (also 4032, 8032 etc.)
were thrown out (around 1991) and I could buy it for 50 DM (~ 25 EUR), together with a 8250 dual-floppy drive and a printer.
The computer has been in perfect condition.

Some years later, I sold it - which I now do regret...

I don't really remember if I already had a C64 for my own by that
    time.
    A little later (1 or 2 years), I got my first PC: 80386sx-25 with a 52
    MB HDD :)

    Regards,
    Anna

A Commodore 64, 1541 drive and a 1660 300 baud modem. Moved later to a C128, then an Amiga 1000, then a 500 that I later sold to get a PC for that is what CompuServ and AOL was handing out software for to get on the internet. Wish I never made that move. So my first PC was a Packard Bell 286DX.
