California Governor Gavin Newsom announced on Friday that the Golden State would be the first state in America to require COVID-19 vaccinations for K-12 students.

Newsom announced the vaccine mandate while speaking at a San Francisco-area school, saying all eligible students will be required to be vaccinated before attending class.

The current plan would require students older than 12-years-old to receive the coronavirus vaccine in order to be able to attend class. This step would add the COVID-19 vaccine to the required list of childhood vaccinations required to attend school.

The vaccine requirement would be enforced after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gives the approval for different age groups to receive the shot while allowing religious and medical exemptions.

Why is it bullshit? Kids are already required to be vaccinated against Measles, Mumps, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio and others. Why not Covid-19?

It's not an attack on your freedoms, it's the right thing to do to protect the public against these illnesses.

Then why not make the flu vaccine the same thing? It's just plain rediculious. Why did the CDC change the definition of what a vaccine is? This thing is NOT a vaccine, especially if you have to get 3, 4 or 5 shots. A vaccine keeps you 99.9% from getting the illness. People getting this shot are STILL getting it. So it does NOT work.

I'm all for vaccines, but this is NOT a vaccine. I've never had measles, mumps, chicken pox, shingles, polio and I have all of hose vaccines. Now tell me this, you get a covid vaccine and STILL get the disease 2 weeks later?! Get real. Girl at work got her shots and got the damn virus 2 MORE TIMES with months.

Once people get their facts straight on what things are and there is a REAL vaccine then yeah maybe we'll get it. Until then, I call bullshit.

It's not rediculous at all. Covid-19 and the flu are two very different
things. I'm sure medical science would like to solve the flu with a vaccine
if they could, and even the common cold but it hasn't happened yet.

Why did the CDC change the definition of what a vaccine is?

I couldn't say what the CDC has or has not done.

This thing is NOT a vaccine, especially if you have to get 3, 4 or 5 shots.

It surely is a vaccine regardless of what people write on facebook.

A vaccine keeps you 99.9% from getting the illness. People getting this shot are STILL getting it.

Currently the country is being ravaged by the delta variant. When the
vaccince was developed the delta variant was unheard of and yes, you can
still get covid even if you are vaccinated but you are still protected and
may not have symptoms at all and you are unlikely to need hospitalization or die.

    So it does NOT work.

The efficacy of the vaccine is well proven.

I'm all for vaccines, but this is NOT a vaccine. I've never had measles,

mumps, chicken pox, shingles, polio and I have all of hose vaccines. Now

tell me this, you get a covid vaccine and STILL get the disease 2 weeks later?!

It is largely the unvaccinated that are getting covid now. Those getting
sick with the delta variant (young and old) are at a high risk of hospitalization and death.

Get real. Girl at work got her shots and got the damn virus 2 MORE TIMES

    with months.

I am being real. I just lost a neice last week. She was 20 something, around
    27 I think.

Once people get their facts straight on what things are and there is a REAL vaccine then yeah maybe we'll get it. Until then, I call bullshit.

I recommend you get the vaccine and any booster shots your doctor reccomends for you. This virus is similar to the flu in that it changes over time and
that is why boosters may be needed.

You are right about the facts though. Talk to your doctor or a medical professional you can reach out too and get the facts.

If you're gong to have mandfatory vaccines for schoolkids already, this one seesms a good onero t add to the list.

As a parent of a 13yo, in an area with nothing mandatory to protect schookids(not even vax or masks for teachers when in proximity to the students), i approve this kind of measure. I'm not in Cali, so this exact instance isn't relevant to me.

If this one infringes on rights then why not ban all mandatory vaccines, except for Jehovah's Witnesses, as usual. I say ban the unvaxed JWs, too; your religious freedom does not allow you to put my kids at risk. Start your own school for your own kids & stay away from mine!

Not sure how this announcement counts as a conspiracy, but I've read the ru7les here so *shrug*

The vaccine requirement would be enforced after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gives the approval for different age groups to receive the
shot while allowing religious and medical exemptions.

Why the exemptions for the JWs? Endow them with a per capita portion of school taxes to build & maintain their own private school that operates by their rules.

I understand government concessions to the Roman Catholic Church, who owns most of them & most of the bureaucracy, but why the JWs?
