Has anyone heard if these files can be recovered? It'd be a shame to lose his work.

Thank you, it's good to see his files still exist. If someone could obtain his registration system that would be a great help, especially to the newer Sysops.

The thing is, the key generators that he had may be gone.

That bbsfiles.com siterip is one from probably over 10 years ago.
I got it from someone that was doing hosting for him and I believe he was allowed to keep a copy.

bbsfiles' doug amassed cracks from people on bbsnet and sysopnet but he never reciprocated. Doug would use these keygens to 'sell' doorgames to people and then he claimed to use that money to buy out doorgame authors. Also some of bbsfiles' 'registered' games apparently had expiring codes.

regardless, it would be nice if sysops would release their bbsfiles' registered doorgames or codes so we could have a more complete collection of these various doorgames. I doubt they will.

I included the bbsreg packs and also any packs that had keys [some were from bbsfiles] to help people out with registering doorgames.

    no shit it would help.
that's not going to happen, though.
look in the archives and see if there's a key for them.
there is probably a key for most of the files.
