• TradeWars 2002 Interview

From Ray Sbaitso@1:267/157 to All on Saturday, March 27, 2021 14:13:52
I stumbled upon an interview written by Josh Renaud with Gary Martin, author
of TradeWars 2002, recently and I thought others might be interested in
reading it as well. I played the game for many years and I believe I might have been the worst player in the history of the game. No matter how hard I tried I just could never get anywhere. For all the failure I encountered, I still enjoyed playing it.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I started exploring the blog a bit more and
found some other interesting reads as well. I do miss when blogs offered RSS feeds though.

A WWIV development board? Cool! I grew up on WWIV and haven't been on one
    in forever!

Yep. I ran a WWIV board from 1992 to 2002, shutting it down when the callers all went to the internet. I decided last year to get back into it, and brought my board back up earlier this year, now running on a Raspberry Pi.

I'd forgotten how much I missed BBSing.

You should step back to the original TradeWars of the 1990's. I Think 1993 it was when the game became popular. 2002 is just a polished version of the game. Playing the original rocks!
