On my Amazon Fire TV Stick there's a function that let's you delete the APK file after you've installed it, but I've never tried it on my smartphone. With 64G internal and 128G external memory it doesn't matter much.

There are a couple of apps that will let you pull the .apk file and do whatever you want with it. You can also do it via adb from the commandline of a PC.

Chrome, along with most Google apps, use split APKs and it's also normally in the system partition.
