    Hi All!

It seems I had some issues ...
I think everything should work now.

Note to self ... it seems some people are still using arc ...
forgot to apt-get install it after I migrated my system.
    Fixed now.

    CU, Ricsi

I support arc on the inbound side, but outgoing, ZIP seems to be the standard by today. I prefer packing with my Tosser/Packer instead of binkD doing it on the fly. Am i alone with this pre-historic view?

    Best wishes,
    Matthias

    Yes, or uncompressed.

Not pre-historic, but not quit up to date either I'd say. ZIP has indeed been the de facto standard for conpression for at least two decades, but now that the vast majority of us uses the Internet as the transport medium and we do not have to pay for every byte any more and sometimes exchange mail far more often than 10 times a day, sending raw packets insteads of archives has become the norm for many.

My default is sending raw packets that may or may not be compressed on the fly by binkd. I still support ZIP, but it is only used by a few links.

    Cheers, Michiel

    i am using a full pre-historic system, with pre-historic hardware :)
i've switched fidonet default to ZIP from ARC last month ;)
