I am, slower than long ago, but still here, running a quiet little net275.

Took a job transition 3 mnths ago and having all sorts of fun with learning curve (grin). Now working at NAVIFOR because my NETC job moved to Millington TN and after 26 years of Navy moves, I'm over that. Was a bit touch and go on finding one for a bit but got one. GS13 roles are fairly thin on the ground....

Still catching up on new one.

Hmmm. NAVIFOR. Now that's really interesting. You're lucky; like you said, the way things are now, GS13 roles are probably more scarce than hen's teeth. I'm glad for you.

Still catching up on new one.

I'm sure you'll be up to speed in no time!

As far as my situation goes, I'm still awaiting that meeting with the owner. In the meantime, he's instructed HR to keep me on full time and instructed my direct boss to start making preparations to get my department up on the web in various places. Makes sense; you can't sell from a full wagon if nobody can see the wagon. So now, I'm just sort of biding my time until my boss gets up off his duff and does as instructed. Only time will tell. I made my position clear and my offer - someone has to follow-through as I can't possibly do everything, particularly advertising.

Good luck on it! I can't recall what you do for a living? Obviously some
sort of production of a sellable product.

Mine's normally called 'Data Analyst', 'Program Analyst', or 'Program Manager'.
Can't complain on the pay but finding the jobs can be very difficult. My age is actually somewhat of an advantage.... (grin). Hours are long and lots of off the clock study (can't charge for it very often unless on travel).

Made a new friend this week. Duncan McCloud. Name gives us a little giggle but he's good hearted about it. The Navy is trying to change up the training for the fleet. Part of the solution requires we solve some 13 critical technology issues. Wednesday I checked on NECC as they are part of the puzzle for the expeditionary forces and I wanted to see how they were doing, only to find the task got to them late while mine should be filed today (in staffing end-game). I helped by reading the line items we had selected of the 60 or so, as part of what NAVIFOR will be involved in (about 8 of them). They liked my wording really well and are using it. They missed one line but I filled them in that the PQS Model Manger for Seabees, SPECWAR/SPECOPS is at NECC. He laughed and added them to that line.

    Hi Carol,

On 2021-12-31 14:16:28, you wrote to me:

LCDR equal but it's a bit blurry at those levels where can be CDR
    job
easily. (O5 for the rest). Military is equally blurry at LCDR/CDR.

You expect anyone outside the US military (which is 99,9% of Fidonet) to
    understand any of this?

No, but it was a message to a person who had some level of military background or inclinatons at one time.

That's true for myself too! I've been a sergeant at a distant time in my past. And worked with American soldiers for a bit of that, but still no clue what so ever... ;-)

    Bye, Wilfred.

    Military "intelligence" ... what's that?

Somebody gives an order, you execute it, no questioning ...

    It's an oxymoron.
