When I was in my early 40s a group of friends (of similar age) and I
were sitting around talking and the subject of mortality came up.
I said I didn't want to be on life support and asked who would be
willing to pull the plug on me. All hands went up right away. :)

When my parents hit "that age" they wrote up a set of instructions for us kids "just in case". One of those instructions was to not be put on life support for the long term.

I feel the same way - but we haven't written up those instructions yet.

In this day and age of doctors taking all sorts of extraordinary measures when it comes to postponing death, its a good idea to have that in writing.
And ones family doctor should have that information as well.

    around welcome back.

That's the reason we've held off. My doctor will retire in the next few years and my wife hates her doctor right now.
So when we get new doctors, it will become a priority and we'll get it done.

I used to BBS alot back in the day, but about 20 years ago a combination of job change, home move and Internet put me into
    a BBS wasteland.

As I got deeper into my vintage computer hobby, I discovered telnet BBSs and decided to get back into BBSing.

    I know how that goes.
I've been here since about 1995. There were a lot of local boards then,
now all gone. Now I use Doc's Place and have for years.
Some of the guys around here still run a board.

As I got deeper into my vintage computer hobby, I discovered telnet BBSs and decided to get back into BBSing.

Welcome back. Pull up a chair and settle in.
