• Giving OS/2 a try...?

From Fermin Sanchez@2:301/123 to All on Monday, May 10, 2021 00:54:26
    Hello everybody!

I'm wondering - way back I was an OS/2 user, and I'd like to try some things out again. How would I go about (legally) obtaining installation media for OS/2 Warp 3 or OS/2 Warp 4?

    Regards
    Fermin

the only current legitimate way to obtain a new OS/2 license is via ArcaOS. perhaps you can find a copy of Warp 4 on eBay?

I didn't know about ArcaOS. So much for my Google Kung Fu ;-) Thanks for the information, I'll look into it and also maybe see if I can find a copy on eBay or the Swiss equivalent "Ricardo"!

I would try eBay (or similar). OS/2 turns up regularly there.

If you have a license, but the media are defective, then you could try downloading image files from winworldpc.com.

I hadn't thought of that before, will definitely give this (and a similar Swiss version of it) give a try. Thanks!

... and I just learned something new. Unfortunately no license (any more), but this would also be a good idea. Get a license from eBay, even if the install media are defective (and get the license at a better price... ;-) ), and then download from there.
