    Hello Nick,

Picking Trump's biggest mistake would be quite a chore.

He's the only president who has both a Wikipedia article just for
litigations involving him AND an entire Wikipedia section dedicated M>to
    lies

Mehhhhh, Wikipedia is often a strawman argument; that silly site is only for
good reading whilest one sits on the john.

As you know, Donald Trump has been permantly banned from Twitter.
And Instagram. And Facebook. As a result, he is looking for a new
social outlet to play in. As Z1C, it is your duty and obligation
to promote Fidonet. So why not invite him to make Fidonet his new
    home?

You can give him his own silly site. While everybody else can sit
on the john and laugh our collective heads off.

What do you say, big boy? You gonna invite the orange monster
to have his very own sandbox to play in? I promise not to stop
    you. Hell, I won't even try ...

He is still on YT as of last evening. I thought it was really odd that these social networks allowed him to go on all this time but then suddenly cut him off after he posts messages telling people to stop the violence in DC, cooperate with authorities, etc.

Apple and Google are also going after Parlor because Parlor allows people they want censored to have another social media outlet. Eliminating competition
in the name of keeping the bad orange man quiet is convenient.

In China, both companies actively assist the totalitarian regime in spying on/censoring their citizens, so they have plenty of practice.

The BBS world is probably too "past technology" for him, and isn't (yet) as mobile device friendly. However, BBSing might be one technology that
wouldn't be as easy for the tech companies to censor.

What do you say, big boy? You gonna invite the orange monster

If you had him here to troll, I am afraid you might perish from the
    excitement.

LOL! Docs Place? Is that the one with a horrible outdated 90's-era webpage? Ran by the same guy who spams every stinkin' echo once every few years?

If its not an app, its useless. Its nice to ponder Trump joining Fido but nobody will follow if its not a shiny easy-to-use app with absolutely no techie nonsense. No sane person is going to configure a mailer or a BBS or attempt to decipher that Telegram crap.

    Hello Mike,

No need. He can just point a web browser at Doc's Place.

    Or here. :)

I have used Ed's board in the past. And it is nicely set up,
and super easy to use. No hassle at all to navigate, to send
and receive messages from the echoes of one's choice. Not
even a need to use an offline reader.

Does help to register first, otherwise results might not turn
    out quite as expected.

Apple (Parler app) and Google have already permanently banned Trump.
As well as Discord, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Reddit, Shopify,
TikTok, Twitch, Twitter, YouTube, as well as the PGA (golf) ...

Eliminating competition in the name of keeping the bad orange man quiet is convenient.

With nowhere else to play, why not invite him here? In Fidonet?
In your very own echo? Inivite him as a special guest ...

In China, both companies actively assist the totalitarian regime in spying on/censoring their citizens, so they have plenty of practice.

Hooray! Thank you for rescinding your silly "real names only" rule.

Who sez? Ed Koon (sysop of docsplace) has a bbs that makes it super
easy for anybody to play. All they need is a browser and the know how
to use the point and click method. No additional software needed.

I have tried entering capitolcityonline.net into my web browser (ms
edge) and what I get is a page that contains what looks like scattered
blobs of ascci, with a button that says telnet underneath. That does not
look like the sort of html web page of message areas and messages that
I tend to see on DOC's.

    Am I doing something wrong?

Hmmm... above that there should be a toolbar that, to the right, includes a Register link and a Log In link. The toolbar is the same color as the rest
of the screen, so it does not stand out. :)

I am not 100% sure why that terminal in the middle comes up as a blob. It
does that here also... it is a png or jpg of a synchronet ansi.

It looks like that toolbar shows up in Edge on a Win 10 machine. It also
works with Chrome and Firefox on linux.

Let me know if you are still not seeing that toolbar.

I missed seeing that before. I was now able to register.

After that, I was able to see lists of forums, some fido and some
others. I had trouble navigating to find things I was looking for
though. For instance, I looked for things like Cooking, Recipes, and
this echo but could not find them -- most likely because I did not know
what their main heading would be.

I am still getting used to this "more modern" Synchronet interface. One
thing that I notice is that is uses the "short description" as the
eye-catcher, while the one with more detail is in smaller, lighter font underneath.

I still find that confusing. I made a changes as a result of your feedback.

"Current Events" (where this echo is) is now labeled "Politics/News"
with the "current events" bit still included in the detail description
    below it.

The cooking-related echos are all under "LifeAndLeisure" because I could
not find a better place to put them. :)

This interface groups threads together in the message areas, too. The
older one listed messages in order of arrival, newest first. I am not sure
how I like that yet, either, but it is more like the "web boards" one finds today.

One of these days maybe I will figure out how to get both interfaces
available for the users to choose from. :)

OK I found the problem. Somehow, your Gender question answer got logged as your DOB. Due to the free-for-all nature of some of the political echos, I have that group set to AGE 18. You should have access now.

I checked a few other recent new user records and theirs look OK. However, they may have registered via telnet or SSH rather than the web. I am going
