From Mike Powell@1:2320/105 to ALL on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 08:06:00
FYI. Dale was also a long-time contributor in this echo before he left Fidonet a few months back.

This message was from DAVE DRUM to ALL,
    originally in conference Cooking

I was told by e-mail from Bill Swisher that he found on Facebook a notice
that our former moderator and host of many Echo Picnics had fallen from
his twig. That is sad news indeed.

It's no secret we never agreed politically, nonetheless I have enjoyed the back and forth of our political discourse. He will be missed.
I will think of him whenever PUSU is used.
    Godspeed..

Yes, even if you didn't agree with his opinion, you could usually have a reasonable conversation with him. He was a great person to have around in
    the COOKING echo, too.

I was sad (and also concerned) when he abruptly announced
he was taking his BBS down. I am sorry to hear he is gone.

Yea, he kept it real. If you proved him wrong on a leftie point, he wasn't
the kind of leftie who would still fight you on it. That's how they all should be.

I remember talking with him in COOKING a little too. I think he sent me a bunch of recipes (or was that a different guy?)

Yeah. It had to be real evidence and not just someone spouting an opinion,
and I cannot blame him there.

It could have been Dale. Also could have been one of several other participants, too. Dave Drum shares a lot of recipes.

It's funny how people share a recipe with every reply they post. I never said this to anyone before, but I'm not gonna cook from a recipe that doesn't have photos. I just won't! :)
