My experience with people of Iranian and other Middle Eastern descent is limited, but I've never had any bad experiences.

Some of my neighbors I assume to be of Iranian descent because the
grandfather was in the Iranian Air Force. He always seems eager to greet everyone he sees with a handwave and a big "Hello!" About twice a year (pre-covid, anyway) he would make soup and go around the neighborhood with a tray of bowls, offering some to every household. He would only ask that we leave the empty bowls on our porch so that he could come collect them later.
He has an old, grouchy chihuahua (nothing against chihuahuas -- we have 3)
that he walks. I haven't really talked too much with the younger generation, but they are often outside working on cars and seem friendly enough.

We had an incident a few years ago in which feces was smeared on the door of
a local mosque. Many of our town's citizens coordinated via Facebook to
gather outside the mosque to show our support for them. Shortly after we
showed up, members of the mosque came out amd served food and refreshments to everyone, and then the leader of the mosque made a speech. You might be surprised to hear that he did not call for the beheading of the person(s) responsible for the desecration. Instead he had a message of peace, appreciation, and forgiveness. I do not know if the criminals were ever
caught, but I do believe that their actions resulted in far more love than hate. Such are unintended consequences.

    Jeff.

Neither have I. We were talking about infection rates being low in Mexico but high in Iran.

Jeff, everyone who uses BBSs has some sort of mental illness, myself included. We are all really, really out of our minds. I have nothing against you, I have nothing against Iranian migrants. Let's not forget to take our meds.

All I'm trying to say is that I believe that the vast, vast majority of
people on this planet are nobodies who just want to live
peacefully with their families, and sometimes they're willing to take great risks and suffer great hardships to make that happen.

My experience with people of Iranian and other Middle Eastern descent is limited, but I've never had any bad experiences.

When I was in college, I met a fellow who worked at the library that was
from Iran. He was a former olypian (I was not clear if he actually made
the olympics or just trained to). He had to flee the country when the Shaw
was overthrown. He was a really nice guy, and fun to talk to once you got
to where you could understand him.

On the other hand, one of his son's associated with a couple of other
Middle Easterners who also worked there. One of those people left the
college and wound up being a member of the original plot to bomb the WTC.

The son was supposedly not involved, but we never saw him around after that.

Infection rates. Cases. Once a week or two, look at the case count
    and multiply it times 4.

Actually I believe anyone who uses tweeter/facecrook by choice has a mental illness.

That sounds reasonable. I just wish Congress could have a say in all this instead of just Trump & Biden. Both are reckless with their executive
    orders on immigration.

Trump set himself up for popularity points with his executive orders on immigration, but a lot of good that does when his term is over!

Same with Joe! After his term is over, the next president can shut the door again. It's stupid and confusing. Congress needs to settle it once and for all.

If you are REALLY serious about being on face-crook and tweeeter THAT much time, may as a unlicensed QUACK doctor ((I may be offering bad advice yet I PROMISE I offer BETTER *Quackery)

Minecraft is more full-filling and probably a lot more productive
    Read The Onion
    Go to a strip club
    Try day-dreaming

Might I also recommend Elite: Dangerous and RDR2 Online. Like Minecraft, both are fairly laid back and most of the time you can take things at your own
pace and in your own way.

Unfortunately, my XBox is in the same room as my 8-bits, so a BBS client is never far away.

No I'm just joking. I don't like facebook or twitter for what they did to Trump. They might as well just ban everyone who Likes a Republican.

I haven't been banned yet, but I follow Ted Cruz, Ted Nugent, Stacy Dash, Candace Owens, and a few local Republicans. I like commenting on their posts.

I prefer Simcity 2000 or 3000, if I get time to game at all.

    Read The Onion

Never a dull moment. Their YT channel contains some gold, too.

    Go to a strip club

    Never been.

    Try day-dreaming

I can also endorse this one.

Learn how to to take over the world

What else is there to day-dream about? :)
