    There was finally a Correspondence Dinner in Washington again. This time without a roast, because dictators don't like humor. The party was ruined by a failed assassination attempt. The biggest victim of the attack was the hired mentalist, whose performance was completely and literally ruined by the attacker's shots. The evening ended immediately. It should never have been organized.

    Maybe because half of the attendees inflamed the potential assassin/attacker.
