Like many Americans, the President of Guatemala also apparently does not buy the reasons that some US politicians are giving for the border crisis:
===
But (Guatemalan President) Giammattei, in an interview aired a day earlier [...] said that (he and VP Harris) "are not on the same side of the coin"
on the issue.
Instead, he blamed what he saw as a more welcoming message to migrants by the new administration for the surge.
"The message changed too: 'We're going to reunite families, we're going to reunite children,'" he told CBS News. "The very next day, the coyotes were here organizing groups of children to take them to the United States."
"We asked the United States government to send more of a clear message to prevent more people from leaving," he said.

If you read the article, you can see that Harris pretty much blames their country, and leaders in their region, as the administration has before. What becomes apparent is that it is not only Republicans, Trumpsters, and <insert other names here> in the USA that believe it is the US policy change that directly caused the surge on the border.
