The Supreme Court of New York Appellate Division has suspended Rudy
Giuliani from practicing law in New York, pending completion of an investigation.

The court found that "there is uncontroverted evidence that respondent communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts,
lawmakers and the public at large in his capacity as lawyer for former President Donald J. Trump and the Trump campaign in connection with Trump's failed effort at reelection in 2020."

    Rudy lied to you.

Rudy lied to you about the election being stolen.

Rudy, acting on behalf of his client Donald Trump, lied to you about the election being stolen.

    Hello Jeff,

The Supreme Court of New York Appellate Division has suspended Rudy Giuliani from practicing law in New York, pending completion of an investigation.

Has he been disbarred? Or merely suspended? And specific only
    to New York?

Keep in mind, his former client is no longer POTUS. And is also
no longer a resident of New York. So does it really matter if Rudy
can or cannot practice law in New York?

The court found that "there is uncontroverted evidence that respondent communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public at large in his capacity as lawyer for former President Donald J. Trump and the Trump campaign in connection with Trump's
failed effort at reelection in 2020."

Violating a code of ethics is not the same thing as defending the
POTUS (or former POTUS) in a court of law. But he is bound by a code
of ethics in everything he does in his capacity as lawyer.

    Rudy lied to you.

Let's not get into name-calling. We all know that lawyers (and
politicians) never lie. He was just more expedient with the truth
    than he should have been.

Rudy lied to you about the election being stolen.

And Mayor Daley never found dead voters for JFK.

Rudy, acting on behalf of his client Donald Trump, lied to you about the election being stolen.

    Voters vote.
    Watchers watch the voters.
But who is watching the watchers?

The courts have thrown out all fake claims made about "massive
voter fraud" - and Joe Biden remains president today same as he
did on January 20. In a bit less than four years from now, they
can have another go at it. Until then, keep whining.

He has not been disbarred (yet); the investigation is still ongoing. However, they have uncovered enough evidence of unethical behavior to suspend his license effective immediately. This is specific to New York because it is New York that is conducting the investigation.

Keep in mind, his former client is no longer POTUS. And is also
no longer a resident of New York. So does it really matter if Rudy
can or cannot practice law in New York?

What matters is not that he got his license suspended, but *why* he got his license suspended. It was suspended because he lied to the courts and the general public (defined, I believe, as 3,500 or more people).

Violating a code of ethics is not the same thing as defending the
POTUS (or former POTUS) in a court of law. But he is bound by a code
of ethics in everything he does in his capacity as lawyer.

He violated the code of ethics *in order to* defend his client, the former POTUS. Specifically, he lied about the 2020 presidential election having been stolen.
