Lindell had previously claimed that the Supreme Court would somehow end
Biden's and Harris' terms and reinstate Trump. He had claimed that there was
a provision for such a process in the Constitution (there isn't).

In addition to the resignations of the POTUS and VPOTUS, Lindell is predicting that Trump will be reinstated, presumably also on August 13 (or maybe
August 12). In fact, if both the POTUS and VPOTUS resigned, the Speaker of
the House of Representatives (currently Nancy Pelosi) would be next in the
line of succession, much like Gerald Ford succeeded Spiro Agnew and Richard Nixon.

You are correct. The line of succession is for the presidency, not the vice-presidency. Ford (House Minority Leader at the time) was appointed to
the vice-presidency after Agnew resigned, but before Nixon resigned. This
kept Carl Albert from becoming president. My bad.

However, it remains true that if both the VPOTUS and POTUS resign, without a replacement VPOTUS being appointed, succession goes to the Speaker of the
House and most certainly not to the most recent loser of a presidential election.
