    So... what's going on with the GOP and the insurrection hearings?

    Liz Cheney(R) has been willing to serve in the hearings almost since their inception.

    Kevin McCarthy(R, House Minority Leader) nominated Jim Jordan(R) and Jim Banks(R) to represent the GOP in the hearings. Nancy Pelosi(D, Speaker of House) declined those nominations.

    Recently, Adam Kinzinger(R) has also signalled willingness to serve in the hearings. Unfortunately, a growing number of GOP members feel that Cheney and Kinzinger should be punished if they serve. Presumably, Jordan and Banks
    would not have been punished for serving.

    What threat do Cheney and Kinzinger pose to their GOP colleagues? Is the GOP trying to cover something up? Matt Gaetz(R) has said that he fears that the hearings could result in criminal referrals. That's an odd thing to be afraid of, if you've done nothing wrong.

    Cheney & Kinzinger need to defend Pelosi from her shortcomings on January 6. They need to NOT ask the questions that need to be asked, like why was there only 2 security guards at the facility?

    I don't know the exact number offhand, but it was certainly more than two.
    One later died and at least four testified on the first day of the hearings.

    But you thought the correct number was two because you "know every damn
    thing," right? Or is it because you were there?

    It's ok, Jeff already gave me the very accurate count when he said "there was
    a good nunmber of em there & definitely more than 3."
