It looks like a smear from the inside; his own people (NY state Democrats) are turning their backs on him for this alleged sex stuff, which all seems very unprovable to me. I'll assume he did something to anger some other powerful Democrats and that now they're showing him who's boss. He should totally get the opportunity to run for re-election this November and he can explain himself to the voters.

Governor Huey P. Long was impeached, and then put on trial
in the Senate for his alleged crimes. Of course, the Senate
sprang him and he continued his term in office, which he
used to get rid of those who put him on trial. And then he
decided to run for the US Senate, even though he was not
old enough to hold office. On his birthday he was sworn in
as US Senator, and his second in command OK Allen became
Governor of Louisiana (who did everything Huey Long told him
to do). Once he had everything in place, it was time for
Huey Long to take aim at FDR. But a mad doctor decided to
put an end to that by shooting Huey P. Long's penis off
after boffing his daughter. Okay, medical reports say only
half of his penis was missing. Meanwhile, the bullet holes
of shots fired at his assailant remain embedded in the marble
wall of the state capital.

The FBI refused to investigate the incident claiming it was
a state issue. And FDR remained POTUS for another 10 years.
