• Crap on World Stage

From Aaron Thomas@1:275/99 to All on Monday, August 23, 2021 14:54:23
Remember Biden joking about "I'm gonna restore our image on the world stage?"

Kamala killed it when she met with Singapore prime minister Lee Hsien Loong
and was asked "What went wrong with the pull-out?" She replied "We will have a lot of time to talk about that. For now, I'm focused on the remaining people who need to be pulled out. <cackle cackle cackle>"

Then later in the meeting, someone asked her "Do you agree with the steps
taken in making these decisions?" She replied "There will be and should be a robust analysis of what has happened. <cackle cackle cackle>"

She's bad at bs'ing! Who's got a lot of time? Not the Americans stuck in Afghanistan! Who's gonna do a "robust analysis?" Surely not any damn
    Democrats! lol

I'm pretty sure you added the "cackling," as you're wont to do.

That said, this is a practical response. What's done is done, and what's left to be done is left to be done. There are finite resources, and they're
choosing to focus those resources on what's left to be done. What's already been done can be analyzed after the evacuation is complete. It makes perfect sense.

Then later in the meeting, someone asked her "Do you agree with the steps taken in making these decisions?" She replied "There will be and should
be a robust analysis of what has happened. <cackle cackle cackle>"

This is consistent with her previous answer. We conduct post-mortems all the time at work to review lessons learned and figure out how we can do things better in the future.

And if Republicans keep getting the US into unwinnable wars, as they do, that will be valuable information for Democrats to have when they have to clean up the mess.

If he is talking about the tarmac interview, she cackled at the reporter
before she said something similar to what is quoted above.

By the time Kamala was in SE Asia talking, it was already being killed.
Our European allies feel like the rug has been pulled out from under them, while our own diplomatic corps are feeling demoralized and, if they are in Afghanistan, stranded.

I do it sometimes, now you're doing it; you're putting words in her mouth. She didn't say any of that. Let's hope that Kamala does actually analyze
everything later. Maybe she can help some of the Americans hurt by Biden.
Maybe she's not the dumb bimbo that she portays on TV.

I didn't say that's what she said, word-for-word; I paraphrased what she said as I understand it. It blew your criticism out of the water, so now you try
and blame me for the things you do. I didn't change anything she said; I
    didn't add words like "hit-list."

You also didn't mention that putting it off until after the fact makes it
more likely that it is never fully investigated as it will either be
forgotten or some other emergency will push it aside. In addition to what
you understood out of it, I also picked up on that.

How will refusing to answer the question make it more likely that it's never investigated? Is she supposed to investigate herself? Are the people questioning this just going to say, "Oh, well, nevermind then?" Somehow I
    doubt it.

It would not be a good thing to start investigating it until it's over
anyway, because then the investigation itself could be blamed for a failure
(if there is one). So any investigation is going to have to wait, anyway.

Politicians are pretty good at figuring out how to bury things. I don't
think like them so I don't know how they do it but I know they do. Probably
by trotting out some new Russia conspiracy.

Yeah, or by criticizing a war zone evacuation to bury the fact that the
former president, GOP members of Congress, and far-right extremists are being investigated for an attempted coup.

No, it's not. I never said I was quoting her word-for-word. You, on the other hand, did make that claim about reports of door-to-door distribution of
    vaccine information.
