So... Has anyone here tried the "horse paste?"

Do we even want to know what that is?

If it is related to horse manure, the answer is "no!" by the way. :)

Ivermectin, a horse dewormer, is apparently the new hydroxychoroquine. It
comes in a paste. Interest by some anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers in its use
to treat COVID-19, due unsurprisingly to a deeply flawed study published in a medical journal, has led the FDA to officially issue a warning that Ivermectin is not safe for consumption by humans.

Not officially, but since you bring it up... I would imagine that if
suppliers started regulating who can and can't buy it, proponents might be reduced to recovering what they can from the manure of horses taking it. It wouldn't surprise me in the least.

A reputable medical journal? When you say "consumption," do you mean they
are injesting it, or applying it to their skin, as I assume it is used by
horse owners since it is a paste?

Seeing as how many anti-vaxxers are anti-vaxxers because they are worried
about potential side-effects caused by vaccines, it makes you wonder why
they would trust something that could also have unknown side-effects on
    humans.

I guess as long as they don't think it causes autism it is ok? <shrugs>

I don't know if it was reputable or not, but it was published somewhere. I
had assumed that they were ingesting it and the paste was sort of like giving
a dog its medicine coated in peanut butter. But I could be wrong. I also
don't know what kind of worms it's supposed to deworm, more surface-dwelling ones like hookworms or ringworms, or more internal ones like tapeworms or heartworms. I'm a dog person, not really a horse person.

Right? I have no idea. But that's where we're at.

They probably only use those kind of additives if it is a medication for
race horses, so they are probably safe. :)

They supposedly also use those additives in human vaccines, too.
