What do you know about what Trump is doing with respect to the election?

And how do you feel about it (good or bad)?

    Hello Dale,

What do you know about what Trump is doing with respect to the
    election?

I know that Donald Trump recently replaced the post master with one of his cronies who has managed to stir things up and slowed postal service in the US.

The postal service has now warned 46 states that mail in ballots may not be delivered in time for the election.

The postal service has asked for funding to keep service at a high level and Donald Trump has refused to do that in spite of the up coming election.

Donald Trump does this in plain sight, talks about it in his news briefings.

I recon the poor man is completely deranged.

And how do you feel about it (good or bad)?

There is nothing good about the current situation in the White House. I hope that Americans can get to where they need/want to go in spite of all that.

    Ttyl :-),

I thought his remarks about the mail-in voting or possibly delaying the election was not a good idea... I really cringed when I heard him go on about that.

In Ontario, we have a conservative premier who is largely hated by our liberal mainstream media. But that hate was completely put aside when he focused on the Covid situation. Daily press conferences, polite conversation, positive focus, plans discussed, encourage common-sense practice, end of conference. Lather, rince, repeat. Our media had absolutely nothing to spin negatively. They actually gave him a pass and have been somewhat positive.

I wrote elsewhere that if Trump would just keep his mouth shut about the election or really anything negative at this time, he could likely win by a landslide. Thats likely not going to happen now. He's not stupid and knows that he will be eaten alive over things like this, so why bring it up? Its not logical and makes no sense unless we really are not seeing the bigger picture.

What do you know about what Trump is doing with respect to the election?

And how do you feel about it (good or bad)?

Well, I know he is complaining about mail in voting. If they do what they
did in our state for the primaries regarding in person voting (allowing
people to vote early and holding the polls in building with large open
areas that promote social distancing), I think that is a better plan for a general election than expanded mail in voting.

My reason for believing so is that, if I were so inclined, I could have
voted up to 3 times by mail in the primary. My belief is such behavior is wrong so I only cast my personal vote. I have little doubt that my circumstance is an isolated occurrance.

I did not mind voting by mail in the primary. Our state forces you to vote
in your own party so I don't see as big of an opportunity for fraud...
about all you could do is vote for someone you think won't win in November.

I will be voting in person in November.

He is right about mail in voting. I agree, mentioning a delay in voting
was not bright. If I were him, I would have instead touted early in person voting... flattening the curve by reducing crowds. I cannot see where the other side could be too critical of this thinking as several states run by their side did just that for Primaries which were being held during the original height of the virus.

Well, I know he is complaining about mail in voting. If they do what

Watch what they do, not what they say. Trump is voting by mail in a
state where he does not have a legal residence. He just does not want
other Americans to vote by mail.

they did in our state for the primaries regarding in person voting (allowing people to vote early and holding the polls in building with large open areas that promote social distancing), I think that is a

Good that your area was able to provide social distancing. Some areas
have not been able to do that.

I will be voting in person in November.

So long as they don't shut down your polling place. There are areas
where the Republicans in charge have done exactly that in order to
suppress voting by Democratic leaning areas.

So long as they can get enough election judges to monitor your polling
place. Many of the people who have been election judges in the past are
senior citizens who do not want to take the risk.
