Interesting that Phil does not prefer to really use pgp himself!

    He writes:

"Note: I don't have a PGP client that runs on my iPhone, which is where I process most of my email. This means you should send me plaintext email if you want me to read it. (Yes, I know, I know.)"

    How ironic. :)

    Indeed.

    And he's signing that with:

    -Philip Zimmermann
    6 June 2021
    The Hague, Netherlands

I didn't know he lives so close by. It turns out he now is a professor at the university where I once studied...

    Bye, Wilfred.

Time to get on that bike and see if you can spot him on campus!

I'm also suprised that he doesn't even use/mention his
SilentCircle system for his iPhone. I wonder what's up with
    that.

The chances of that ar very slim, unless you know exactly which building he works in. It's a big campus!

    Anyway I'm not a star chaser. ;)

He was a founder, but maybe he's no longer involved with them?

I suppose the campus is closed to casual traffic anyway?

But even so, I would think why not subscribe to the service
that one helped to create or influence? A $9.99/mo
subscription would be nothing for him.

No, you can't compare it to a campus as you know it from your part of the world. It's just a part of the city where a lot of the buildings have educational (or related) functions.

    I don't know his motivations...

Oh.. we have some campuses that are open (all over the city)
too. Queen's University (my alma mater), Toronto Univ.

But colleges here seem to be in more closed-in surroundings.
