I’m sorry for what I posted earlier to you but after the down-voting got out of control, it made me have my suspicions about what was going on and started to draw my own conclusions.

My James Bond update thread got 15012 down-votes alone. That's a little extreme I think.

Hi DM - After TM posted this, I wanted to check, and I saw that my BBS currently has no messages in the Dove-Net Entertainment sub-board. I'm not sure how that happened, and I'm not sure what logs I can check to see what happened there.

It's an issue I'm aware of and should have already addressed in the current code dev-builds.

I noticed the same thing. Also in the Synchronet Discussion area.
    Very strange.

    Very strange.

Votes are messages. Until yesterday-ish, they counted toward the total number of messages in an area. If you only retain 10K messages in Synchronet Discussion, the deluge of downvotes would've pushed some "actual" messages out. With a new build, the vote messages won't count toward that retention limit (as I understand it).

Ahhhh, that makes sense now! I had been offline for about 10 days
(after Hurricane Sally came through), and when I did the initial
call outs for QWK/FTN mail upon returning, there were MASSIVE
sized packets coming in. That's exactly what happened, I bet.

(EDIT) - I just saw DM's message in DoveNet Sysops, which
explained how it all went down. Wow.

    Thanks.
