    On my test systems, when using SyncTerm, ANSWER.MSG is not displayed during SSH-based logons. I haven't tried another client, but is that expected behavior?

    It is. If the username provided via SSH isn't known and the user aborts the new-process registration process, they still have an opportunity to see the answer.* file, but it's not shown normally.
