I know theres a way to do it, but for the like of me, I can't find it, and don't remember how.

I want to change the color of the displayed message and quote. Is this a feature of Sync, or is it just a feature of the message reader (SlyEdit, IceEdit, etc). I just want to change how the user see it on my system, not how it goes out to the network.

It's both. A message reader could ignore any color information in the message and just display it however it wants to you (colorizing words or quotes or whatever). Or the message reader could display the message as its stored and any colorizing of the message/quote would be the work of the original message author/editor.

The MsgHdrBodySeparator text.dat string can be used to set a default color for message text displayed by the "built-in" message viewer in SBBS.

I don't think there is a setting for that in Synchronet's reader. The closest options I can think of are the toggle option in SCFG within each sub-board to allow extra attribute codes, and there's the section in SCFG under Message Options called Extra Attribute Codes where you can toggle which attribute codes will be interpreted in messages.

The thing is that messages can have color codes saved in them, so you might want to be able to see those colors. If there was a setting for the color of a message and for quote lines, that would mean stripping any existing color codes from the message in order to use the color you want the message to appear with.

Ok, thanks. Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but it does explain why I could not find a simple color switch. <BFG>

I figured that one out by mistake, a while back, big mistake at the time. LMFAO, As always, thanks for the assist Rob

    speaking of colors, there's attr.cfg
maybe this stuff would be better off being at the end of text.dat?
