i dont think this voting feature is very fruitful and i'd like to see it removed in this fashion. maybe convert it into a voting door that uses synchdata and make a separate msg sub for voting results?

You can disable voting in each sub-board if you want. And I've created a voting door for Synchronet (SlyVote) - If you want polls generally disabled except for a voting door, you could make a local sub-board with voting enabled and use that sub-board with SlyVote.
