  • unauthenticated packets

    I'm getting mail from a hub that doesn't use packet passwords.

    2024-11-11 11:09:27 Unauthenticated HN_TEST EchoMail from 999:1/2 (in the non-secure inbound directory) ignored
    2024-11-11 11:09:27 Bad packet detected (reason: echo-auth): /home/sbbs/fido/nonsecure/06cbb96a.pkt


    And I'm getting these errors; I've tried to set my pkt password to blank , and force non encrypted communmication as indicated by the hub.



    I have assigned your password for tic, fix and session. No encryption^M
    or packet passwords. CRAM-MD5 is to NO. HIDE AKA is also set to NO.^M
    Real Names are set to NO and Allow ANSI set to yes.^M
    ^M


    Obviously not understanding the settings I need.

    Use a secure (password-protected) BinkP session to get echomail.
