• System maintenance this Wednesday

From Nick Andre@1:229/426 to All on Monday, April 18, 2022 13:48:21
    Everyone,

This Wednesday evening, April 20th, in the evening hours, the mail Hub will be shut down for approx. an hour. You may not be able to poll for mail
    here during this time.

A new switch, cable management assembly and various cables are being replaced/upgraded in the home rack.

At this time, I'll be blowing out cobwebs and replacing the electrical tape, duct tape and zip ties holding my system together. :)

Lol, I actually did all the work late last night.

Also replaced the old Asus Wifi with Aruba IAP's, a longtime "wishlist" thing.

Work is sending me a Ruckus VPN endpoint, no more VPN clients in my home office for me anymore.

Not familiar with Ruckus but am a huge fan of the OpenVPN module in Pfsense... it just works without any problems whatsoever. Before, it was a convoluted mess of buggy L2sec, PPTN etc.

    CAN CONFIRM.

My office retired a pfSense firewall with OpenVPN for access to our office development environment. We replaced it with a Fortigate firewall managed by our network team, but I miss the pfSense. It's still racked and ready to go
    at a moment's notice. :)

Yep, I run PFSense here at home, which I use to connect to the VPN at work. When I head up nort' for a week to go fishing, I can bring my laptop, connect to my OpenVPN network here at home, and have access to my systems here at home, as well as be able to do any work that's required to maintain the illusion that I'm not actually on vacation.

I'll do something similar, Wireguard via OpenWRT to my home, then Ruckus to the office. :)
