take screen captures or text dumps of your menus and bulletins from time to time. they create a visual record of how the board looked at different stages. store them with dates so the timeline stays clear
if some horrific crash takes your board down and files are lost these captures make a great reference for starting over. with that said, save these screen captures and dumps somewhere else :)
