  • anyone else think intellipedia is a stupid concept for the most part?

    i get the intent, intelligence sharing between disparate branches of the military
    is very important, however the fact that their compartmented wikis are networked
    and accessible over the clearnet with a VPN (im assuming its a specific VPN used
    exclusively by service members) seems stupid to me.

    a lot of leaks like those by jack teixeira probably could have been completely prevented if they followed the principle of least privilege and prevented people
    from accessing shit like JWICS remotely even if it's in a "controlled" environment.

    idk im not in the military, i am talking out of my ass here i'm just interested
    in hearing other peoples' thoughts, especially if you are actually in the forces.

    i'm also willing to bet theres complete scrapes of even the top secret shit floating around on obscure corners of the internet or on random people's hard drives.

    also does the US military still provide usenet access? i read some very old posts
    from like the 80s or 90s and saw a lot of .mil addresses lol.
