could anyone please give me some basic advice on how i might be able to
    get
the soundcard to work on my pc.
its a ct4810 pci soundblaster card, just installed, and i cant get any
    sound
    output at all.
my pc is a basic pentium running windows 98. the previous pci soundcard installed worked ok.
i have tested the speakers, tried changing the pci slot, got latest
    drivers,
checked mixer settings, (all the other basic luddite things...), etc, but still cannot get any sound. if i play a wave or mp3 file on winamp / media player, the equalizer visual seems to indicate that the file is being
    played
as normal... just that i can't get any damn sound from the line/speaker
    out.
if anyone has any advice about what the problem could be then id much appreciate your help.

    thanks.
