• All versions windows has DOS

    Believe it or not, all windows includeing xp has a dos either lurking under
    or on top of windows. Thats what they tell me!!!

    Well...sure. There is "DOS" and then there is "dos" and several varieties in-between. 'tis important which one is which.

    Well, they told you wrong. NT4.0, Win2000, and WinXP do not
    have any form of real DOS whatsoever. They do, however, have
    DOS *emulators*.

    the dos emulator supplied with all versions of NT will run quite a few
    of your dos applications but certainly not all of them.
    if you do have NT installed on a fat/32 partition
    you can run real dos by using a win9x boot floppy

    NT4 (or older) can be installed on fat16
    and a dos boot disk will give you 'real mode' dos

    win2k or XP can be installed on fat32
