• Rebinding keyboard keys in Windows ME.

    Hi,

    I have a toshiba laptop and the spacebar magically stopped
    working--I have disassembled it to try and fix the situation, but I
    could not. All other keys work perfectly.

    The laptop is running Windows ME. Is there a way in Windows to
    rebind, say, the alt key to the space bar until we get the keyboard
    fixed?

    Thanks,

    Have you tried any keystroke scanning software - can you be sure a
    keypress is being registered ?

    Not sure if it`d do the job, but there are plenty of free keyloggers that might be able to tell you if a key is registering...

    Failing that, i`ve never heard of a single key stopping working unless
    the keyboard itself was stuffed :-}
