    Before you can delete a partition you have to 1st delete any logical
    drives etc in that partition.. This process is a safety feature - so you
    dont screw up a disk you dont mean to - If its XP and the original
    install was NTFS - I am not sure the earlier FDSISK may work - you may
    need something like partiotion magic to be able to get at the disk at
    this level... If its NOT NTFS, use FDISK to clear all the logical drives
    then you should be able to delete the partition table and start again
