    what are the advantages of using this chip rather then the other..in other >words why would i bother to do so?

    I suspect the main reason would be to substitute larger chips for smaller
    ones if you have the larger chips on hand and need to get a device that
    takes the smaller chips working. (Personally, I have a small stash of 16K, 64K, and 256K chips that were salvaged from various devices...haven't had to use any, though, as I've never had RAM go bad.)

    For me, simply put, I didn't have a damned 4116 in the house.
    Thanks to Google and the guy who used them in a Williams
    Video Arcade Game, I was able to get my II+ back on the road.
    Any other use would be entirely up to you and anyone else who
    would need a 4116 and has none.
