Hello Commodore fans! I have the following problem with my recently
bought 1541-II and XE-1541 cable. Everything works fine (formatting, validating, copying files in both directions), except copying the whole
disk images (D64) to blank 5,25" disks. When I start doing it (ALT+F5 in
Star Commander, all versions were tested) 1541 tries to write the disk,
    but:

    - The drive is very loud, head bumps and noise can be heard - like it
    has maaaaany read/write errors
    - After a few seconds SC pops up "20, READ ERROR, 01, 00". Skipping
    tracks does not help.

If I try to copy files from *inside* the .D64, it works great. But
therefore I cannot copy such games as Maniac Mansion (with hidden
    files).

I have tested my drive with various diskettes and PCs and problem
remained. What could be the reason for this and how to fix it?

thanks in advance for help - nijou (formerly known as YOIK/VADER :-)

I'm sure it's just "Head movement speed" set having been set to a too
    low value... Bye,

Thank you, Joe, for the answer. I have tried various settings of "Head movement...", but no success. One clue: the problematic tracks are #1
and a few sectors from #2 - the tracks #3-35 are written correctly. This happens with every .d64 image. What can I do to fix it? I can't wait to
    play that oldie-goldies! :-(
