    Beside that, it says the C64 runs at 1.02 MHz. Is that the speed of an
    NTSC machine? The European PAL C64 models AFAIK run at 985 KHz or
    something like that, ie. slightly slower than 1 MHz.

    I'm pretty sure NTSC C64 runs about 1.02Mhz... according to article
    194 of the Knowledge Base the NTSC C64 is 1.022Mhz and like you stated
    the PAL is slightly less at 0.98Mhz. Although one could, I suppose,
    argue decimal aproximations and such but that's basicly it.
