    Hi group,

The day has come that the last Retro Replay is to be sold. In a
double-auction, you now have the chance to either buy one of the
first, or the last Retro Replay from the mass-production:

    Prototype auction: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3544&item=3034784506

    Last Retro Replay: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3544&item=3034783428

The auction is not made for pure profit. If the last Retro Replay is
sold for more than 300,- EUR or more than 100 different bidders bid on
it, I'll make a new production run. You better bid in small steps!

    ciao,

I hope, you produce new RR´s with Dirk Klettke´s patches for the C128 and Super-CPU.

Weren't you going to produce a (TFE compatible) ethernet addon for the Retro Replay? Wouldn't make much sense if no Retro Replays would be produced
    anymore, would it?

You can read about Dirk's reset mod für the C128 on www.dienstagstreff.de. No info about an SCPU patch, though :(

    Hello Magervalp and Nicolas,

read the article in the GO64! and you know, what I mean.

    Hello Magervalp and Nicolas,

Arndt, you really need to improve your communication skills. This answer is completely worthless!

To MV: the article I cited contains a short paragraph about a side effect of the reset patch: after disabling the cartridge with the soft menu, it won't come up if you press the system reset. This way you can enable the SCPU and reset it, without the RR waking up again. That's not better than the old flashmode jumper method. I highly doubt there is a better patch, a logic upgrade/fix from Jens Schönfeld himself would be needed to make the ROM accessible from the SCPU.

There are lots of RRs in the field, and I have enough pre-orders to
justify a production of RR-net even without more RR sales. RR-net will
be available in august 2003, as promised (production is running).

    Further, I'm working on an adapter for plus/4, C16, C116, Vic-20 and
maybe PET (all on one PCB), so there'll be more sales of RR-net
    without new RRs.

I could use a little help with PET stuff, please see the other post
    (doesn't belong in this thread).

About the 128 patch and it's SCPU benefits: The last RR that I'm
auctioning already has the 128 patch. Probably the only unit worldwide
with the patch *and* 2 years warranty.

It is very easy. Before you turn on the Computer you must turn off
SuperCPU. If you have the menu from RR on the screen, turn of RR with the function keys. Then turn on the SuperCPU and press Reset on your Computer.

To MV: the article I cited contains a short paragraph about a side effect

Do you have a better patch? This patch is from Dirk Klettke and Jens asked him, to make it compatible for the C128. This patch has by the way the
    effect, for use with SuperCPU.

This is strange, because Jens claims the RR is compatible with the C128 without the patch. And I'm sure he is right. Dirk's patch is just a convenience thing for people who prefer C64 mode most of the time and are too lazy to press the C= key.

Seeing that you are also in the same group "Dienstagstreff" like Dirk, I wonder why you don't know about these facts, and then point to a strange
GO64! article which is just a non-authorized copy of an article published on the homepage of your own group.

This patch has by the way the
    effect, for use with SuperCPU.

I had the SCPU and RR's Silversurfer running together long before this patch was published. Simply setting the flashmode jumper is enough. This is also documented in the readme that comes with the Silversurfer drivers I made for Novaterm and Desterm. After all, it is just a patch, not a bug fix.

I also had some discussion with Jens about making the hardware truly SCPU compatible, so the ROM can be accessed without trouble. The problem is that this would need a logic upgrade and he said he's not sure if the new
equations still fit into the MACH chip.
