• DV Mac or eMac?

That is the question. I have a DV Mac but really need the ability to burn
DVD's and CD's and would love to have a superdrive to do it. How does the
emac compare to my DV Mac and does Apple make a superdrive I can install
into my DV Mac? I love my DV Mac and don't really want to cough up another $1500.

    Thanks

Buy a Pioneer A05 retail package or 105 oem bare drive, or any of
several bundles with the same hardware inside from companies such as La
Cie. They are cheap now because the A06 is coming soon. Swap drives and
you are all set. Once it's in, the OS will recognize it.

What kind of "DV Mac"? If it's an iMac DV, changing your optical drive
is a bit of a pain but possible (there are instructions on the web). If
    it's a G4 tower, it's a 5 minute job. I just did it.
