• Help!! Partitioned HD lost driver: how to recover files???

    From boogass@boogass@airmail.net (steven partridge) to comp.sys.mac.system on Wednesday, July 02, 2003 11:15:42
    From Newsgroup: comp.sys.mac.system

My PPC G3 266, OS 8.6 ,4gb HD partitioned into 4 drives hiccupped
during System Folder reinstall and now will not mount. Norton shows no
sign of it at all, Apple Driver update from OS CD shows all 4 partitions
and says it can be Intialized. Is there a way to restore the drivers
without wiping the other partions so I can recover some family photos (on
one of the partitions w/o the sytem folder) that OF COURSE had not been archived yet? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

tah tah taaahhhhh (to the tune of "Taps")

    I did that.

    Lost 4 GB.

Maybe a savvy tech with some special voodoo tool but if Norton can't
    see it.....

    Thats what happened to me.

    I'm way more careful now.

    What did Disk Warrior do?

I used DATARESCUE X.. got back all my files (impossible with Disk
Warrior or any other tool..) I was so happy that I paid for this
product ... another friend of mine had the same problem and used the
same DataRescue X... Happy World (IT World... not the real one..)

Using Data Rescue is giving up. I was hoping you were able to fix the problem.
