• Kodak CD33 camera on a Macintosh ibook G4 OSX Tiger 10.4.5

Is there a way I can just plug this camera into my ibook and not deal
with this Easy Share software? I do not like it, nor iPhoto. I want to
see the disk, and then copy from it, or open pictures directly from the
card. I use Photoshop, and nothing else.

With my 3 year old Vivitar ViviCam 3625 this could be easily done.
Vivitar gave me a choice of using their software and I chose not to. Especially when I have photoshop on my computer.

This looks like a nice camera, please I do not want to return it, and
buy the Vivitar 5385 on ebay. I tested the 5386 and I was able to open
the disk directly without third party software. But the 5386 lacked a viewfinder and only gave me the battery hogger screen, so I returned it
and got this Kodak. Walmart no longer sells the Vivitar 5385 so I am
hoping that this Kodak will replace it.

3 MP is all I really need, so I am hoping to stay with this camera, but
I will not use this easy Share software.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

You may need to install Kodak drivers--or maybe there's a third-party
    driver for it.

The problem is with Kodak, not with Apple.

So failing all else what is wrong with using a card reader for the
    pictures?

If the camera looks like a USB disk to the Mac, then the Mac can
attempt to mount it like a disk using its USB disk drivers.

If the Camera does not make its memory card look like a USB disk,
then some other software needs to deal with the card while sitting
    in the camera.

If the camera does not offer you this option, then you can most
likely purchase for very little money a USB memory card reader. I
think I saw one on http://dealmac.com for $0 after rebate in the
last week or 2. It is very common to be able to pick up these
    readers for under $20.
