I am looking for an older Mac computer to use as the core of a home entertainment center. My budget is very limited, but I am willing to
pay a fair price (I'm really hoping for someone with a couple of
computers they are looking to get rid of who thinks this is a cool idea
and can almost donate a system).

    Basic info:
    G3 or G4
    Must be at least 400MhZ.
    Must have USB ports
    Working Video-out port (preferably DVI)
Laptop, iMac or Mac Mini preferred (for the small logic board size)

I want to take a Mac computer and put it inside a custom case
(preferably an old Nintendo, but a Playstation or even a nice VCR will
do in a pinch). I will be removing the logic board from the computer,
attaching TV video adaptors and some customized hardware wired to the
case's external switches. Then, I will be loading OS 10.4, a NES
emulator and assorted videos (especially TWiT, MacBreak, and etc...
This system must be at least 400MHz so that I can run the emulator and
get the movies to play properly. And it would need to have about
    256megs of RAM.

Throughout the whole process I will take pictures and document my
designs, and then I'll gladly share this info with you.

    http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/products/ maybe interested?

I mean, why "break" (not exactly) a Mini while you can build your own
    micro ATX PPC based project?

I think you better mail them or their e mail lists.
