My dad bought a used G4 with 9.2.2 installed on it. He says it's
working fine, but in the Finder, none of the command key shortcuts are available. (Command-S for Save, Command-W for close, etc.) In the pulldown menus, they're not shown. They do work within applications,
just not in the Finder. Any clue what's going on?
Someone set the Finder General preferences to use the "Simple Finder"
Have pops click on the his desktop and then from the Edit menu select Preferences, then click on the General tab, then deselect the Simple
Finder option.
All should be back to normal.

Ah, Microsoft Word had a similar setting many years ago, a simple
version that was far too simple, and was easy to set by mistake. Someone
told me about the current program that there is a good word processing
program hiding there except you have to find and kill all the defaults.
