• Can Itunes combine 2 .mp3s into 1?

I just figured out how to cut .mp3's in itunes. Now I would like to
rejoin them. Is there a way to do this in itunes? If not, is there any
    freeware that can do this.

You can combine them in iMovie, and then export a sound-track.

in your main library window, right-click the track you want to chop up,
    and select "get info".

go to the options tab. set Start and Stop times, corresponding to the
start and finish of the chucnk of song you want to chop out. click
    okay.

right-click on the track again in the main library window, and select
"convert selection to XXX" (the XXX will be whatever file format you
happen to have set in your itunes Importing preferences at the time.)

after a little while, itunes will spit out a second, smaller copy of
the track, containing just the music between the start and stop times
you set in the original track. rename it as you please.

to chop out another different chunk, go back to the big track again,
reset the start and stop times ... and so on.

Probably means "Join CD Tracks" in the Advanced menu.

I believe there is a way using Applescript to cut tracks but can't be sure.

Distinguish between truly joining mp3s and uncompressing, joining, and recompressing. The latter (which is what a sound editor like Audacity or Amadeus does) will lose sound quality, because you now have a file
you've compressed in a lossy fashion at least *twice*.

Very few programs can do a true join between mp3s without uncompressing
them, and it is not always even possible. One that you can try is MP3
    Trimmer. m.

Or just use Audacity. Free, flexible, and easy to use.
(For cutting, joining, mixing, filtering... )
