I'm thinking of replacing my Macsense router with a D-link DI-604 but I can't find any reviews on Macaddict or Macworld. I even tried searching google groups for the router and macintosh and it only gave 4 or 5
results.
I have a DI-704P. Had a lot of problems getting it setup (no, it
wasn't because I didn't read the manual). The firmware was (is) full of
bugs. Finally got it halfway there by hunting a more recent firmware
version from the Taiwan D-Link site that the US site is not even aware
of.
Still have problems printing large files through the router's print
server. But at least the firewall works, and it does not crash as
often.
D-Link's technical support is a disaster. Even once you get to talk to
someone who knows something (good luck!), they are hampered because the developers are in Taiwan and information does not flow freely to
customer service... nor does it seem to flow to their tech writers, as
the user manual is way beyond the firmware.
I'd suggest staying away from D-Link. I firmly intend to...
